Claude-o-Meter is a tiny macOS menu-bar app that watches your Claude Code spend live: today, this month, per model. It tells you, in plain language, where the money is going and how to spend less of it.
Click the menu-bar icon and the meter drops down: spend for today, the month and the trailing thirty days, a stacked per-model chart with your daily budget line drawn across it, and a feed of insights that read your usage patterns (cache efficiency, model mix, context bloat) and say what to do about them.
Shown with sample data.
01
Today, this month and the trailing thirty days, always one click away. The stacked chart splits every day by model, Haiku through Opus, so you can see exactly which one is eating the budget.
02
Set a daily alert and a monthly budget; the alert line is drawn straight across the chart, and the meter projects your month-end total from the current pace, before the invoice does.
03
The meter reads your usage patterns and says what to do in plain language: cache efficiency, model mix, context bloat, per-project totals. Each insight names the problem, the dollar amount, and the fix.
